Meet Johnnie

Johnnie Jackson is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. At the age of twelve, she attended New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bessemer, AL where she accepted Christ into her life.

Johnnie was very active in church and had a great love for God. She was a Sunday School teacher, in the youth choir, and was an usher. Johnnie married at the age of 19, and she was married for 29 years. She has two children, Demarcus Jackson and Janet Jackson Frederick. She has two beautiful grandchildren, Hailey Jackson and Jeremy Frederick.

After being a pastor’s wife for several years, God gave her a book in 2011 to inspire, motivate and build women.

"At the beginning of the NBA game season, the team who lands the number one pick has an opportunity to choose one of the nation’s best players. As I reflect on the depth of me being God’s first pick, I am overwhelmed. God chose me even though I was sometimes overlooked by people. I know if God can see a champion in me, He can see a champion in you.

Even though you are a woman behind prison walls, God wants you because He sees a champion in you. God wants you whole. The walls do not prevent God from reaching you.

Even though you have experienced pain in your marriage, God wants you. So many women are in unhealthy marriages, and they feel trapped. Women go against their conscience to hang on to men. God wants you whole.

You may have been abandoned, rejected, abused, prostituted, drug addicted, gay, or called an unfit mother. God can restore and make you whole. He can use you to inspire other women because you are God’s first pick."
